Tokarev SVT-40

Description

Introduced in 1940, the SVT-40 was derived from the earlier SVT-38. It had a rather unfair reputation. It was a very good rifle, but for the Soviet Troops, who were trained on the simple Mosin-Nagant M91/3, it was "Too Complex and difficult to maintain". It served as a section rifle (One rifle per section of Mosin-Nagant M91/30s) until 1945 when it was withdrawn and put into storage.

a very nice rifle! it was actually the finnish troops who captured them that said they were too complex though!started off being issued to nco and marines as they were 'technical minded' you see entire units armed with them too, but i don't know why, maybe guards status?
